Edinburgh Fringe 2004
HENRY McNAB PRESENTS...
Taking a sideways look at the shabby side of the comedy business, Sneddon and Kay bring the less salubrious aspects into focus; the world where desperate nonentities will re-mortgage their house to finance a Fringe run, where talentless hacks tell other people's jokes to drunk stag parties and where shyster agents convince a gullible public that an average (or less-than-average) talent is “touched by genius”.
Into this world walks the enigmatic figure of Henry McNab, owner of the McNab Agency which represents the disenfranchised and misinterpreted. He has a vision – it's a daring plan to get a washed-out alcoholic and a village idiot onto the Perrier shortlist. The show, as McNab would say, will be ‘A tour-de-force, pardon my French'.
In the words of Paul Sneddon:
If you can imagine Woody Allen's ‘Broadway Danny Rose' written by Samuel Beckett, that's pretty much what the show is about.'

However, according to David Kay:
Henry McNab Presents … is an obvious candidate for the Perrier, it's total comedy. It's now down to the judging panel. If they are prepared to pay to come and see it, it's in the bag …'

David Kay has appeared on BBC1's Floor Show and Live Floor Show and is well established throughout Scotland and beyond. He is an exceptional comic. Nowhere in the country will you find anyone with such a slow, measured delivery and such a quirky un-orthodox style. Kay is unique, surreal, extraordinary – and is now recognised as one of the most original and inventive comics in Scotland. This is his third Fringe show following the success of his two solo shows Some Like A Scone (2002) and Fireball (2003)
Paul Sneddon is better known to comedy audiences under the name of Vladimir McTavish , under which guise he has performed at comedy venues throughout the UK and Europe. Viewers of BBC1's Floor Show will recognise him as the character Bob Doolally , in which persona he has performed six sell-out Fringe shows at The Stand. He will be performing Bob Doolally's Eurodribble for four nights at this year's festival. Paul's other TV credits include BBC Scotland's BAFTA-nominated Live Floor Show , The Empire Laughs Back (BBC1), We're On Our Way to Wembley (ITV1), Under the Moon (Channel 4) and Club Class (Channel 5).
